Worship

Last month I was blessed to take 15 teenagers to SoulFest 2010. It is an amazing four days of hearing great bands and speakers, spending time together and most importantly spending hours worshiping Jesus.

I love to worship, in fact on the last night at SoulFest I sat under the stars praising the Lord along with the group Skillet, I was incredibly blessed. It is so hard for me to fathom why Christians would not desire times of worship more than anything else.

Yesterday I was thinking about worship again and was wondering why people are so unwilling to worship God even in our church services. I believe that one of the reasons people don`t worship Him on Sundays in our church services is because we are not committed to a deep relationship with him the other six days. If we are spending time everyday with the Lord and are committed to a deep relationship with Him and understand His heart for us what else could we do but worship Him.

A rough analogy might be when we are dating that new person in our lives. I think back to when I was dating my wife, I could not wait to talk with her every day. I would sing her praises to all my friends and tell them how wonderful she was. I would go out of my way to spend time with her, and made her that priority. I didn`t worship her but it was pretty close.

I have so many reasons to worship Him. I have to! It doesn`t mean that everything in my life is perfect, it was never meant to be. I worship Him because He is awesome!

Have you truly entered into worship today, and have you spent that quality time with Him today. Have you made Him the priority in your life the other six days of the week. If the answer is no, you are really missing out. If the answer is yes, you know what I am talking about. It is so wonderful to have the freedom and the genuine heart to worship.

If you are not in the habit of spending time with Him on a daily basis I would encourage you to do so. He has so much for us in that relationship, so much he wants to share with us. If you want to know His heart, become a worshiper and a committed disciple of His.

If you are someone that knows His heart then you are ready for an exciting life of following Him. It is so much more than we could ever imagine.
