I met Greg on the street. He was sitting on the sidewalk, wrapped up in a sleeping bag. It was draped over his shoulder and in front of him was a box asking for money. I could tell he was in need and I knelt down to talk with him. I asked how I could help him, and he said he needed money. I offered food but he was not hungry.
I asked how I could pray for him and he said pray that Greg and Sandy be set free from addiction. I asked him if he was Greg and he said that he was. I then inquired as to how long he has been an addict and what his addiction was. He shared with me that his addiction was heroin and that he has been an addict since age 13. Even as I write this my eyes are filling up.
I asked Greg if he got really sick if he didn't get the heroin. He looked up at me with such hurt in his eyes and said,"I can't even think about it. The pain is so horrible." I was humbled by his honesty. He asked me not to pray for him there, but to pray for him at my church.
Brothers and sisters, I would ask that you pray for Greg and his girlfriend. He is 30 years old and is in need of a miracle. I feel in my spirit that I am to go back to the same area over the next few days I am here and pray for Greg. I feel that the Lord wants me to kneel down on the street with Greg and ask God for immediate deliverance from this heroin addiction.
We serve a God of miracles!!! Amen!!!
Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
