Putting together a puzzle

Yesterday was the day to receive some teaching on the spiritual climate here in Vancouver. It is very bleak. The statistics are that only 3% of the population are Christians involved in a local church. That means a lot of people are not in a relationship with Him.

Conversely, Vancouver is a very religious place. In fact most people consider themselves to be religious. Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and Muslims make up much of the population. The question was presented to us, "How do we reach these people".

The answer to the question was presented to us as a puzzle. Our role is to help to place another piece in the puzzle. Picture a puzzle with 100 pieces, our role is to add another piece to the puzzle. Maybe we can add something to the puzzle to make it clearer.

The Boaz ministry is focused on youth. I was obviously interested in hearing how we can reach out to teens here in the Vancouver area. I wanted to understand where they were spiritually so we know better how to reach them. Using the analogy of the puzzle, this is what we were told, "most teens do not even have one piece of the puzzle. They do not have even the slightest concept of who God is and who Jesus is."

Pray for us as we go out. We want to be a part of helping people and teens to see the most important image ever. We want them to see Jesus!! For some we will be the first glimpse they see of Him!
