I approached the man and said to him,"I am going to ask you something, and the reason I am doing this is because I feel God has told me to share something with you." He said "ok". I proceeded and said "do you have a daughter that you have an estranged relationship with?" He replied, "yes I do". I then said "well God has told me to tell you that your daughter loves you very much." He stood there with amazement. I then told him that was the only message I had for him and to accept it for what it was, a Word from God.
The next day I went back to the same church to check in with them and the same man then approached me. He said "thank you so much for what you shared with me yesterday, it really made me feel much better." I am so glad that God would use me to speak this word to a man I did not know.
I learned much from that experience. I learned that God can give very clear directions for us to follow. We then have a choice as to whether or not we will be obedient. This as you will see (in my upcoming blog entry tomorrow) had a profound impact on an experience I had yesterday.
For me this was a new step forward in my ministry. To have a word of knowledge from God was incredible and scary. What if I had been wrong? What if I had looked like a complete fool? I guess I am learning that being a fool for Christ is a good thing to be. If I had resisted God's prompting I would have missed out on a blessing, and so would the man I was to share with.
We all need that little extra fortitude in the spirit to speak with someone that god has told us something to convey to them.we need to humble ourselves and put our own insecurities aside and he will lead us through it.
