What I will be doing in Newfoundland

I am truly excited to be leaving in just a couple of days for NFLD and to help hurting people in the path of Igor. When I try to explain to people what a hurricane is like and the devastation it brings it is hard for people to comprehend. I came across some pictures from Igor that will help you to understand what it is like during the actual hurricane and the aftermath which people are left to deal with. Remember this was not a huge hurricane by hurricane standards , but it packed quite a whallop.

My main role in this hurricane deployment is the following:
-minister to the staff, volunteers, local pastors involved, fire dept involved, and of course the victims.  Take pastors out for lunch, give them some materials, …be of assistance in whatever way we can help.
-Pray off the teams in the morning, and to welcome them back and talk about their day in the evening.
-Visit the work orders from staff in the mornings or evening, and then go at it.
-As much as possible, make sure the staff are doing ok, debrief them,  make sure the team is healthy in every way.  Lead staff devos…

So I am there to minister to a lot of different people. I will be serving in a chaplain role as well as using the CISM training I have received to assist people experiencing Post Traumatic Stress.

I would appreciate your prayers!
