Simple things

I am not sure about you but sometimes life gets so busy that I miss the simple things in life. I can get so focused on the big picture that I miss some of the amazing and small things.

Today I was sitting in my favorite cafe and was working on some stuff for my youth ministry. I noticed a couple of younger looking folks come in and order a coffee and a wrap. As they were waiting for the food to come to their table one of the girls stood up and walked over to a place where a number of Bibles are. She took a couple of minutes and had a short read.

Her food was served quickly and with care from the staff. She and her friend ate their meal and then it was time for them to leave. Before she left she walked back up to the Bibles opened it up again and then left with the Bible in her hand. Don't get alarmed, the Bibles are there for that reason. They are a gift to those who may have never opened His book.

My prayer for this young lady is that the Word of God will come alive to her. She obviously has an interest in reading it, but I pray that it becomes a book she can't put down and that she falls in love with the lead character. His name of course is Jesus.

I would ask you to pray as well for a teen named Lacey. Lacey is someone I met about three weeks ago as I walked downtown. Lacey added me as a facebook friend recently and I let her know I would be praying for her. I talked to her tonight on facebook and we are going to meet on Monday again. I know that God is at work in her life and I am so glad for that.
