After a long day of travel we finally arrived in Bonavista, NFLD. It was a smooth flight and then a long drive from St. Johns to Bonavista. After we got past the town of Clarenville we made the 1 1/2 hour drive to Bonavista. Many times on our route we had to slow down for roads that had been previously washed out and bridges that were washed out.
We started ministry right away by talking to people affected by the hurricane and they want to tell their stories. we want to listen as they share. My first impression is that many people are in a state of confusion and they are suffering post stress emotions/psychological challenges. They are precious folks but very bewildered.
This morning we had the opportunity to meet with two families and they shared their stories and let us into their homes, (their homes look much different after the hurricane) and we shared with them and prayed with them. We were invited back again and will try to before we head home.
