Murder charges have just been brought against a 29 year old man (I hesitate to call him that) for the murder of his 16 year old cousin. She had been missing for some time and then the police found her body buried in the ground. What a horrible thing. Thankfully the police were able to find her body, or for years her mom would have wondered what happened and if she was even alive.
I do not even have the words to express how her mom must feel. It is senseless to me to have such a cruel act take place. I pray for Hillary's mom and the entire community where Hillary lived.
I had the opportunity two summers ago to be the speaker at a teen camp for First Nation teens. I saw the hurt in their eyes. I saw the hopelessness. I saw the pain.
Brothers and sisters, please join me in praying for our First Nation Communities.
"Heavenly Father, today I come before you, pleading with you to raise up young men and women on our First Nations. Lord fill them with your Holy Spirit to bring change. Protect their hearts, minds and bodies from the people and forces that would seek to destroy them.
Jesus use this ministry to somehow be a blessing to Hillary's community. Help us to stand with their community as they fight drugs, alcohol, abuse and prejudice. Lord somehow in the midst of their darkness, give them hope." Amen.
I would love your input as to how we can help in this battle for First Nation Teens.
