I had another experience today I would like to share. I was asked to go to the hospital today to spend time with a family who has a terminally ill son in his early 30's. I was able to meet with the family and then say a prayer for the young man. I heard others in the room talking about how cold it was outside, and they were right. What really struck me was that I am sure the young man would have traded being indoors, extremely sick in a hospital room for an opportunity to be able to catch a breath of cold air.
Why do I say all this? I think it is sometimes very easy to complain about things, complain about life. Lets be grateful for our health and a warm house to come home to.
I was reminded this afternoon that there are people who are forced to live outside in these freezing conditions. I could not survive if I had to sleep under a bridge and try to stay warm. Let's pray for those less fortunate and as we see a need let's do something about it. Give a blanket, pay for a night in a shelter or whatever else you feel led to do.
We are blessed!!!
